If anyone wants to chat about what they might be writing, this is the place to do it!
(I know some of you don't like to talk about fic stuff before writing it, but I thought I'd open a discussion post just in case, haha)
Sign-ups will open in just a little over two weeks! In the meantime, I'll just be here...waiting...

Date: 2016-01-11 11:12 pm (UTC)You could always keep it gen-ish if you wanted, but with D'avin off the radar for at least now, it's certainly an opportunity to scratch your Johnny/Dutch itch! =P

Date: 2016-01-13 01:42 am (UTC)Definitely, if it picks up right after the S1 finale and doesn't span much time (or involve Dutch and/or Johnny too heavily), D'avin will pretty much be a non-entity here.
Either way, I'm thinking there won't be any soulmark pairs among Dutch/D'avin/Johnny. I'm not sure what I want to do with Dutch. (I've been thinking I want to tie her soulmark or lack thereof to her backstory.) D'avin, I'm thinking will have a soulmate who either died or chose someone else. (I hate to kill lady characters, but it could tie into his whole "up and abandoning his little brother to be in the space navy" backstory.) Johnny, I'm thinking won't have a soulmark, because I think that could create more depth and conflict to his relationship with D'avin, and also because I kinda want him to be INSTANTLY DEVOTED TO DUTCH (platonic or not) in the way he's heard people describe how it feels to meet your soulmate... without her actually being his soulmate, because this story is also about choice.

Date: 2016-01-13 08:38 am (UTC)omggg I am SO INTO that third paragraph, I always find soulmarks interesting but the implications (fate vs free will) are always so BIG, and I totally understand that a lot of stories just aren't about that aspect, but I'm gonna be real into it if those three don't have soulmark pairs like you're thinking!
(I'm gonna be real into no matter what, lbr, but !!)
