(I know some of you don't like to talk about fic stuff before writing it, but I thought I'd open a discussion post just in case, haha)

I'm so glad Jess alerted me to this post's existence, because I NEVER actually check Dreamwidth so I missed this whole thing. HI. LATE AS ALWAYS.

Anyone, I'm toying with these 3 options...

- Sheldon/Penny (yes, the old standby) in an Indiana Jones AU. (Penny is Indy's cousin, Sheldon is a stuffy academic who is forced to do field work with her.) I actually was writing this for a Saturnalia gift years ago, but couldn't get the plot details flushed out enough to get it done in time so I switched to another prompt. There's like 3.4k on it currently, but I would likely re-write a little bit of it and then the 10K would be all middle plot stuff.

- Finally write that Revenge fic with the zombie apocalypse. (Loosely connected to this fic.) Basically Nolan and Emily falling in love while the world is in ruin. The usual.

- The Veronica Mars/X-Files crossover fic I started writing for Crossovering last year and couldn't finish. (That seems to be a habit of mine.) Currently has a few words on it, but needs an actual case that makes sense so I can write a casefic.

And that's it? Maybe? I don't know? There's also a Revenge time travel fic that I thought about writing about fifty times but I never actually put any words down. WRITING IS HARD.

…NOLAN/EMILY. Of course, now I'm torn because "Nolan and Emily falling in love while the world is in ruin" is my jam, and there should be hundreds of thousands of words already written about that.

BUT ALSO, tell me more about this time travel fic, because WE HAVE NOT SPOKEN ABOUT IT? AND I HAVE SUCH FEELINGS ABOUT TIME TRAVEL. (See all the capslocks?)

We haven't spoken about it! Because, it was actually supposed to be a birthday fic for you, but I failed at that. OBVIOUSLY.

Anyway, it was kind of conceptually like All Our Yesterdays. Not a fusion or crossover with it, just a jumping off point for the idea. And all I had was basically opening on Nolan going to Emily and being like, "I BUILT A TIME MACHINE", and she's like, "NO YOU DIDN'T", and then he has proof from her in her handwriting or even video of her explaining it to herself. And this is like the fifth time he's had to tell her, because they keep going back to different points in time to fix things with her Dad and they keep failing. And that's mostly what I have. It would sort of jump back and forth between the past attempts and the current attempt and then future attempts, and Emily trying to decide what to prioritize, whether it's worth it to lose one relationship in favor of another, and so on.

So obviously, I didn't get FAR with it. It's just sort of out there in the ether.

I do (generally) know what pleases you. :)

I'm going to poke at all of these in the days leading up to sign-ups, and see whichever one I can get the most clear idea of beginning/middle/end and then... we'll see.

I doubt you were waiting for an explanation as to why I said I was going to do the TBBT WIP-wrapup on Twitter and then signed up with Red Dwarf, but here it is: I basically ditched TBBT like a hot potato because I realised I was just getting more and more bitter about it, not enjoying it, and I needed to go cold turkey. (Cold turkey. Hot potato. Mmmm.)

We'll see how long it lasts, but I haven't watched since the ep that aired on the 7th of January. (Which means I only missed one ep so far, but still.)

HOWEVER. While checking how many eps I've skipped, I note that Meemaw is in the next ep. Being played by June Squibb, about whom I know nothing. But MEEMAW. It's like I was being pushed away by everything I still liked going to shit, but as soon as I stop watching, this happens. (Maybe I should've quit loooong ago.)
