(I know some of you don't like to talk about fic stuff before writing it, but I thought I'd open a discussion post just in case, haha)

I'm actually not caught up either, but you got me for Yuletide one year for Longmire and I loved, that's what I was throwing it out ;)

I'm always pro-finishing WIPs, but on the other hand, I'm not that knowledgeable about Stephen King but I'm REAL intrigued by the idea of you writing something in that realm! I don't know Red Dwarf AND I haven't read Kushiel's Legacy (I know, I know) so I can't offer comment on those, but you're one of the most prolific people I know, so I'm sure you can settle on something with at least 10k =)

…NOLAN/EMILY. Of course, now I'm torn because "Nolan and Emily falling in love while the world is in ruin" is my jam, and there should be hundreds of thousands of words already written about that.

BUT ALSO, tell me more about this time travel fic, because WE HAVE NOT SPOKEN ABOUT IT? AND I HAVE SUCH FEELINGS ABOUT TIME TRAVEL. (See all the capslocks?)

We haven't spoken about it! Because, it was actually supposed to be a birthday fic for you, but I failed at that. OBVIOUSLY.

Anyway, it was kind of conceptually like All Our Yesterdays. Not a fusion or crossover with it, just a jumping off point for the idea. And all I had was basically opening on Nolan going to Emily and being like, "I BUILT A TIME MACHINE", and she's like, "NO YOU DIDN'T", and then he has proof from her in her handwriting or even video of her explaining it to herself. And this is like the fifth time he's had to tell her, because they keep going back to different points in time to fix things with her Dad and they keep failing. And that's mostly what I have. It would sort of jump back and forth between the past attempts and the current attempt and then future attempts, and Emily trying to decide what to prioritize, whether it's worth it to lose one relationship in favor of another, and so on.

So obviously, I didn't get FAR with it. It's just sort of out there in the ether.

I'm going to poke at all of these in the days leading up to sign-ups, and see whichever one I can get the most clear idea of beginning/middle/end and then... we'll see.

omggg I am SO INTO that third paragraph, I always find soulmarks interesting but the implications (fate vs free will) are always so BIG, and I totally understand that a lot of stories just aren't about that aspect, but I'm gonna be real into it if those three don't have soulmark pairs like you're thinking!

What's the timeline? (ALSO what are you thinking of writing!!!)

Maybe Cloak/Dagger depending on how things shake out with their current appearance. I really want to do them getting their act together fic that features Miles Morales freaking out over older delinquent versions of his friends who aren't together, but might as well be. I have concerns about writing that fic, but I want to do it.

I doubt you were waiting for an explanation as to why I said I was going to do the TBBT WIP-wrapup on Twitter and then signed up with Red Dwarf, but here it is: I basically ditched TBBT like a hot potato because I realised I was just getting more and more bitter about it, not enjoying it, and I needed to go cold turkey. (Cold turkey. Hot potato. Mmmm.)

We'll see how long it lasts, but I haven't watched since the ep that aired on the 7th of January. (Which means I only missed one ep so far, but still.)

HOWEVER. While checking how many eps I've skipped, I note that Meemaw is in the next ep. Being played by June Squibb, about whom I know nothing. But MEEMAW. It's like I was being pushed away by everything I still liked going to shit, but as soon as I stop watching, this happens. (Maybe I should've quit loooong ago.)

I think you deserve a salute for hanging on as long as you did!! You lasted, what, four or five seasons longer than most of us?
